Rainbow Spirit is more than just a music, arts and lifestyle festival. It’s a community of people with shared values seeking connection, creativity, celebration and growth. An opportunity to find each other, find ourselves and find meaning.
Founded in 1998, Rainbow Spirit Festival (formerly Rainbow Serpent Festival) has been a cornerstone of Australia’s independent music and arts culture for over two decades, with a permanent festival home in Lexton. After an extended break, Rainbow Spirit returns from 6–9 March 2026 under a new name and renewed vision — honouring its legacy while shaping a sustainable future.
While we’re not yet able to return to Lexton, Gathering Light marks an important moment in the festival’s journey. Held in its temporary home at Eagle Ridge Event Park in Tallarook – smaller in scale, but rich in spirit, creativity and connection.
Over four days and nights, we’ll camp under the stars and celebrate in full colour, with music, movement and meaning woven throughout the site. The festival brings together carefully curated Music, immersive Arts, and the heart of community life in The Village — each offering its own rhythm and space to explore, connect and belong.
Whether you arrive to dance, create, gather or simply be, Rainbow Spirit is an invitation to take part in something shared – a living expression of culture, care and collective energy.
Our values
Our values guide how Rainbow Spirit is created and experienced – from how we design the site and program the festival, to how we care for one another on and off the dancefloor. They reflect the culture we’ve built together over decades and the shared responsibility that makes this gathering possible.
